Are you sick of hearing about Xavier's birthday? I'm sorry I just love this kid and want to remember everything. So here are his stats for this year. Height 37 inches from 34 1/2 last year. Head circumference is 19 1/4 from 18 3/4 last year. Weight is a whooping 32.4 pounds up from 23 last year. Looking at the numbers I can't believe there isn't a bigger difference. I guess I say this every year but I feel like he grows before my eyes yet these numbers say he's growing, just not the huge amounts I seem to think. Once again he is in the 50th percentile for everything. Perfect with me.
Xavier is still the smart, funny, active and loving boy he always has been. I love his personality and envy his energy. I am so proud of him and just hope that I can help him grow into the amazing person I know he can be.
All that mushy stuff aside here is my milestone list for this year:
*Potty trained, mostly. We haven't tackled night yet. But during the day he goes without accidents for days.
*Dresses himself. Shirts are by far the hardest thing but he can do them all by himself.
*Knows his A, B, C's and recognizes a handful of letters on a regular basis.
*Speaks in full sentences, using plurals, genders and pronouns accurately most of the time. Almost everyone he talks to can understand him.
* Knows his full name and age. He knows my name and Matt's most of the time. My nickname for Matt is Schwa and it is what I call him almost all the time so sometimes X will tell you Matt's name is Schwa.
*"Reads" stories to me and recognizes familiar ones. He will correct me if I tell a story wrong.
*Draws triangles, circles and squares. Squares are the hardest. He is starting to draw people too. Which are mostly heads with faces and a lot of lines coming down from them.
*Still has a fantastic imagination. He often uses things around us in his stories. For example we were talking about some random guy we saw on a TV show who thought brownies were a gateway to another world and next thing we know X has a brownie and it transported him to the Angry Bird land.
* Starting to sort everything by color, size and shape
* Tell the best stories. Like when we were buying some supplies to go fishing. "Hey guys, I have an idea. Let's use some mallows, catch a fist, take it home and let it be our pet. Daddy you don't eat my pet. He will be a brother to me."
*Mimicks everyone.
*He asks all sorts of questions. Lately it's been about what animals eat and do. He thinks cows are silly for not drinking milk because "it's right there"
