Finally!

After much waiting I finally got to take X in for his 12 month check up. Since he'd been sick and all we just had to keep pushing back. I was just really excited to see how much he had grown in a year....plus a month or so.

When he was born X was 20 1/4 inches long. At his check up he was 29 3/4 inches long. Looking at the numbers I think hmm 9 1/2 inches in a year...he feels bigger. Then I looked at this...




The blue and white one on top is a onesie that fit X perfectly for about the first week or so of his life. The orange one under it is a onesie that I will soon have to pack away because it's tight on him.

He weighed 7.04 pounds (yes...the .04 matters :)) on March 6th, 2009. Since he was weighed so much this last month I can say with confidence that he gained 16 pounds in a year...making him 23 pounds now.

The first time anyone measured his head was when he was about a month old. Then it was 14 1/2 inches....now it's 18 1/2 inches.

It's still a shock to me that my baby is almost 14 months old...where did the time go?!

Here are some things that Xavier has learned how to do:

*Talks... Alot! He reglarly says: Hi, Bye-Bye, Uh-oh and things like mom, dada. He is still perfecting- Go (like go bye-bye), no, Ball and balloon.

*Runs without falling down every other step and walks backwards.

*Opens doors with ease. (Ahhh! Nothing is safe in this apartment any more!)

*Uses a fork and spoon to put things in his mouth as long as I help him get the food on it. Although he's gotten really good at scooping with his spoon.

*Dances like crazy! He's learning how to bob his head.

*Gives hugs and kisses when asked or whenever he wants to.

*Has 8 choppers

He's got such a personality. He is one of the happiest little boys I've ever known. He'll talk to us then laugh. He plays games and loves to meet new people. He is loving animals right now. I'm thinking a trip to the zoo is in order here soon.
