Last Saturday we started X on solid food. I thought he would kind of fight the spoon and we'd spend forever trying to get the food into his mouth. He actually took to it well. Slurping the sweet potatoes from the spoon like he'd been doing it for months. I'm not sure if he really noticed the taste, he didn't really make any odd faces. And he kept sucking in his bottom lip to get what hadn't made it into his mouth. Next week he'll get to try green beans, I'm guessing that will be a little more interesting for him since they aren't sweet.
He's also crawling! Tonight was the first night he's really crawled for more than a shuffle or two. He made it all the way across the room before flopping forward to his destination. It's so fun to watch him explore everything. His new favorite thing to do is follow me around as I clean the front room. He giggles most of the time, unless I get the vacuum out. Then he screams at it; not cries or really even a scared yelp, it's more like he's telling it to be quiet.
Here are some pictures of Xavier enjoying his first taste of solid food.
