Sock Bubbles

I found a pin on Pinterest a while back that let me back to this blog. I have wanted to do it with X for a while but just barely got around to it. I can't wait to do this with him again, it was so much fun for both of us! This is a really simple thing to do. You can click on the link for instructions but I will try to explain it too.

All you need is a
* bottle (the site says water bottle but we don't ever buy bottled water since we have plasitc bottle we reuse so I used empty Fuze bottles) for each person,
*a sock for each bottle (I just bought dollar socks since I had cleaned out our mismatched ones a few weeks ago),
*rubber bands or tape
*dish soap
*food coloring; if you want.

Cut off the bottom of your bottle. Pull the sock over the bottom of the bottle; I had to cut my sock down a little so it wouldn't cover the whole bottle. Secure it with the rubber band (hair tie actually) or tape. In a shallow bowl put some water and add some soap, mix gently. A word to the wise, a little goes a long way. Dip the sock end of the bottle in the soapy water and blow from the end you usually drink out of. That's it! If you choose to add color you can put food coloring to the sock. I was a little disappointed in how the color didn't last for long. It did make a mess on us but it came off very easily in the shower. I don't know if it would dye buildings or sidewalks permanently so be careful if you aren't doing this at home or if you don't want to risk it dying your house.

He seriously loved it!

I know, I look grimy. In my defense I figured showering after would better...I was right.

It would look prettier if we didn't add every color :)

They flew high. But also slow so X could catch them all the time.

See how messy we got?
