X Update

So Xavier's four month check up was on Monday. He got his next set of shots, aside from one that is on some kind of national shortage so he'll play catch up next time. This set hasn't seemed to bother him nearly as much as the first set did. He is a little cranky but other than that he's X. I do have to say that the nurse who did these shots was kinda awful. Last time it was a quick 1, 2,3 ok go to mommy. X hardly cried and just sniffled as we walked out to the car. This time the nurse got one of the two shots ready, poked him, looked at him for a minute. Then she got the other shot ready and poked him again. It just seemed she drew out the process way longer than it needed to be. Maybe it's just my mommy urge to protect him, but he cried for so much longer this time.
While listening to his heart the doctor heard what is probably a murmur. This shouldn't really be a shock to me. I have one and Matt has an irregular heartbeat so odds were good that Xavier would have something "wrong" with his heart. We have to go see a specialist next Tuesday. Until then I'm just trying to remind myself that my pedi is awesome and she'd tell me if she felt there was something to worry about.
We might start solids here soon. X has already been eating rice cereal thanks to his AR. I'm planning on going and buying some spoons and bowls to let him play around with and get use to. Then we'll see about starting on some veggies or fruit.
He's growing nicely. He's 25 1/2 inches in length. I kept telling Matt, he's long, he's just long. So while he might not be that long since he's only in the 60th percentile for height, he has grown about 2 inches since I last measured. He weighs 15 pounds 15 ounces and is in the 42 percentile for weight. And he still has a little head at 16 1/4 inches landing him at the 16th percentile.
As a side note not X related we're having the invitations to our reception sent out here soon. So if you'd like one (because we would like anyone reading this to come if they can) post a comment with your address and I'll delete it when I copy it. Or you can e-mail it to me. The reception is going to be Oct 10th . It's probably be in Chino Valley, although I'm trying to convience my mom that down here would be best. I believe we're going to start at one and go until whenever. And of course X will be there so those of you with kids or who will have kids by then don't have to worry about finding a sitter unless you want.
